The Slacker's Guide to Physics: Electricity and Magnetism

I started writing Slacker’s Guide to Physics: E and M on March 25, 2003.

The first version I’ve made available to the general public was on 4.7.2003

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this errata.`

Here are the Updates I have made to the main.pdf file since then:

The paging is according to the .pdf file.

4.13.03 Edition:

Electrostatics Introduction; Third Paragraph Down: added unit vector r
Next paragraph: “Every single change” -> “every single electrostatic charge.”
Page 14: 2^nd line; 2^nd Paragraph: “electrostatic friction.” Left quote changed.

Answer: You can get this from Gauss’ Law like so: [Change r vector squared to r squared times unit vector r.]

To recap: E dot da contains only the components of E and da .. E and da sould have vector signs on them.

For Phi, in same section, Change the r^2 to r^2 times the unit vector r.
